I was baptized an infant into the Roman Catholic Church and in time became
competent enough with elementary catechism to complete First Holy Communion
and Confirmation. I remained on Rome's path 24 years so I know for myself just
how difficult it is to attain Heaven by means of that religion's faith and practices.
As a young Catholic, I sincerely believed I needed Mary's assistance; but what I
eventually found out is that what I desperately needed, and didn't know it, was a
Passover lamb.
When the Lord journeyed thru the land of Egypt during the original Passover
described in the 12th chapter of Exodus; He wasn't looking for piety, nor
repentance, nor charity, nor faith, nor religion, nor perseverance, nor courage, nor
confession, nor kindness, nor tithing, nor weeping, nor prayers, nor morality, nor
baptism, nor gender, nor age, nor ethnic identity, nor would it have mattered if
people inside some of the homes didn't taste their lamb because the Lord was
looking for only one thing: the blood.
Now as long as the blood was applied as directed; even the Wiccans, the Voodoo
priests, the mediums, the terrorists, the Hamas, the Hezbollah, the Syrians, the
Palestinians, the LGBT, and North Korea's Kim family dynasty would've been safe
inside those homes because the people's personal conduct was unimportant that
night.

advantage of His son's crucifixion to protect yourself from retribution.
People need speak up like that only once and never again because Christ's
crucifixion is very much superior to the Levitical atonement system.
For example: the great day of atonement, a.k.a. Yom Kippur, is always catching up;
it can't even keep up, let alone get ahead. The moment the annual ritual ends,
people begin accumulating sins towards the next Yom Kippur; which is a whole year
away.

The kind of life about which the Son of Man spoke is supernatural.
● John 6:54 . . He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life.
Note the grammatical tense of "has eternal life". It's present tense rather than
future, indicating that when people correctly dine upon Jesus' flesh and blood they
obtain eternal life right then and there, no delay and no waiting period.
* Eternal life and immortality are not the same. The one speaks of a soul that's
immune to death and the other speaks of a body that's immune to death. Although
it's possible to obtain eternal life now, immortality has to wait until our
resurrections. (1Cor 15:51-54)
For example Jesus had eternal life prior to his crucifixion (John 5:26, 1John 1:1-2)
but he didn't obtain immortality till after his resurrection (Rom 6:9, Rev 1:18) And
according to John 5:24, the apostles had eternal life too; but it didn't prevent their
demise; they're all gone because eternal life doesn't prevent one's body from losing
its youth.
Now the thing is: eternal life is a very core element of New Testament Christianity,
viz: people who lack it also lack unity with God's son, i.e. they are literally quite
christless.

Going My Way?
I've reached the age of 81 and was recently given an end of life speech by my
oncologists who told me, in so many words, that there are no more viable
treatment options for my cancer.
At first I became envious of all the folks out there younger and healthier than I
before remembering none of them get to stay that way.
In other words they're all headed to the very same place where I am now-- unless
something happens to them before the age of 81, they will reach my point in time

Going My Way?

and sinners now reconciled with God. And those two powerful influences are doing
what they do without requiring a fee, i.e. they are not on retainer nor do they
charge by the hour nor is theirs a limited-time offer.
● Heb 7:24-25 . .Because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him,
because he always lives to intercede for them.

defense when the time came. I had no clue, none at all, that there was a powerful
Heavenly tag team in the wings wanting to do that very thing for me-- the quality

of every man of the cloth on earth. How does one even begin to comprehend the
magnitude of such a remarkable benefit?

Reading that made me feel sad, all those lost souls, I love each one of those as much as I love each member of my own family, and I love each one of them, with all my heart, with all my mind, and with all my strength, I feel grieve stricken, outrage, that the evil one has taken each one of them, they are brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ.
We are the church. We, they, desperately need all our prayers each day ,if you pray for those lost souls, this what you do is an act of love.

to encounter even one person in all my 81+ years who I felt was successfully
duplicating God's sinless perfection. So then, I've concluded that God has set the
bar so high that nobody can reach it. His own goodness is the gold standard and,
speaking for myself, I can't even come close to equaling it let alone topping it; and
that's not a good thing.
● Rom 6:23 . . For the wages of sin is death
Jesus told an interesting parable that just might be apropos in this case. It goes like
this:
"Suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit
down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one
coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a
delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace."
(Luke 14:31-32)
Well, anybody who reads the Bible is fully aware of the supreme being's capabilities
and would much prefer to be at peace with God rather than war because there is
just no possible way to defeat Him; hence the urging:

absorb disrespect and insult after insult without losing his composure. The folks
invited to the wedding were probably accustomed to taking the king's temperate
ways for granted and assumed he would be passive as usual about their refusal to
attend a royal event dedicated to His son. But their indifference to honoring the
king's son, coupled with killing the messengers, was the straw that broke the
camel's back.

The apostle Paul admitted to being a very serious sinner.
● 1Tim 1:15 . . Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ
Jesus came into the world to save sinners-- of whom I am the worst.
Well; speaking for myself, were I God, I'd put me on display as a trophy.
The thing is; my life's history includes animal cruelty, arson, theft, illegal
possession of alcohol, tooling around in stolen cars, profanity, vandalism, assault
and battery, dishonesty, truancy, trespassing, an overall lack of kindness and
charity, etc. Folks like me are the very kinds of aggravation that God tends to shun
yet He had me in mind when His son went to the cross.

There is a popular belief abroad that when people pass away they transition to
oblivion, viz: they no longer exist as conscious beings. Well; in that situation of
course God wouldn't be their God because there would be no one there for Him to
associate with; they would be gone.
In a nutshell; passages like Matt 22:31-32, Mark 12:26-27, and Luke 20:27-28
informs Bible readers that when people pass away they don't transition to oblivion,
rather, they continue to exist somewhere as conscious beings.

There is a popular belief abroad that when people pass away they transition to
oblivion, viz: they no longer exist as conscious beings. Well; in that situation of
course God wouldn't be their God because there would be no one there for Him to
associate with; they would be gone.
