Hello to all , I bid you good evening from the sunny south.

I’m Daz , 38 bricklayer and divorced single dad (since she was 6) of a beautiful 19 years old daughter.
Both parents do not believe so growing up I didn’t really have any contact with god or the church , hence my knowledge is very limited beyond general tv and life lol

Always considered myself a strong atheist until my mid 30s then began to open my mind to consider that there is just something ,, More.

Didn’t do much with that though, in my ignorance at the time.
Then a month or two ago I started thinking about the possibility of a “god” again.
ordered a bible and have started reading when I can.
Still in the Old Testament at the moment , Leviticus

I’m not sure what exactly I’m here to seek.
Would anyone briefly tell me how you started your journey or what made/gave you your faith please?
Thanks , Daz

Welcome Newbie,

There does not seem to be heavy activity here but feel free to ask questions and share experiences.

Here are some links that might be of interest for someone exploring their faith that might be of interest.

Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Becoming like Christ is the goal of every Christian (even though most are unaware). This transformation is accomplished to the degree that we stop walking by the flesh and start walking by the Holy Spirit. This is simply the working out of decreasing selfishness and increasing love. Biblical love might simply be defined as selflessness;

1Co 13:4 Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;
1Co 13:6 rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth;
1Co 13:7 beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

2Co 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

Nice to have you here, Daz. Always room for more girl Dads. :)

Just about to head out so unfortunately I don't have time just now to get into lots of detail, might be best to head to the "Why I'm a Christian" thread.
