What are the bad fruits of the spirit?

All these fruits (peaceful, cheerful, mature, orderly, pure, kind, courteous, good-natured, not irritable, just, not critical of others, forgiving and not keeping a record of others' wrongdoing,...) are edifying to us and those around us and to the glory of the Father. Sometimes we have to stand up against corruption and ugliness, but even in those times, it's building.
On the contrary, look at some of these invisible bad attributes of bad fruit
Proud, cruel, harsh, mean, unloving, ungrateful, unkind, unjustly angry, impatient, bitter, rage, holding grudges, taking notes on falsehoods, rude/controversial, vindictive, lovers of strife, discord, and hostility, murder, rebellion, enmity, authority, irreverence, blasphemy, unrighteous jealousy, pride, ugliness far from letting the carnal nature take its course, self-serving, narcissistic, lack of self-control,... All these fruits are not suitable for anyone. This fruit is a “work of the flesh” and self-satisfied, causing pain and destruction to both the maker and any related recipients. Not only does this evil displease God, but in choosing to do so, it opens the door to empowering evil instead of good. Just as the right choices allow God to work, the wrong choices enable the dark side to work. Some people pray for God to work and empower evil to work by choosing things like intransigence and prejudice. Making evil choices (disobeying God) allows the devil to inflict more harm and evil out of his pocket.
The works (fruits) of the flesh are not only negative and destructive but also addictive. Satisfying the evil nature is a never-ending cycle, more and more it wants more and the evil nature always wants more. What seems right to the “evil nature” is allowed to “directly contradict the reborn spiritual nature. If the "evil nature" is allowed to "rule", it will do its best to crush all that is good. Sure, it's devastating to the human psyche but the hurt and hurt don't stop there. In the long run, it's also physically destructive. Bad habits can destroy physical health along the way and to the very end.
Worst of all, however, is listening to evil (our own fleshly nature or the devil) that separates us from God and makes it more and more difficult to hear His voice. There is no “life” on that path, while we are living on earth or throughout all eternity.

Making stand for Jesus will have consequences. Not everyone will like you.

Luke 6:22. Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they separate you from there company, and shall reproach you and cast your name as evil, for the son of man's sake.

Is it because of wickedness in your life or planting seeds for God. God's word convicts them of sin in there lifes. Body of Christ are not men pleasers and few will be offended by the truth. When you teach God's word, some churches and companies won't want you around. Its hard on there conscience and don't want you around. They might even falsely accuse of you of something.

6:23. Rejoice ye in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for in the like manner did the fathers unto the prophets.
Jesus telling disciples, and body of Christ. You are blessed, and sign, and rewards are set aside in heaven for you. This is on a individual basis. Your old friends or contemporarys won't want to be around you. There's consequences for taking up your cross daily and following Jesus.

6:6:26. Woe unto you when all men shall speak well of you for so did there fathers of the false prophets.

When every one is padding you on back or talking good of you, look out. Lot of preachers are pleasing people and sugar coat God's word. Even distort God's word. Money flow is important and don't want disruptions in there business. They won't rock the boat. The attendance is too important and if they are offended, there worried about the money flow. Lot of preachers tell people what they want to hear.


In churches, if unbelievers cause trouble or disrupt services, they are to be removed. Again, im not knocking churchs down, but they put up with it.

6:27. But I say unto you which hear, love your enemies, do good to them which hate you.

Don't stoop there level of who cause mischief or plot evil. Don't try to get even by doing it back to them. Just avoid trouble makers and ignore them. Body of Christ some times has to rock the boat. A Christian may have to rebuked or admonished. So they can repair there weakness and be stronger. Some times tough love is necessary.

And body of Christ is not walking mat for the world and to be abused.

6:44. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

Tree are people and bramble bush has no shade. The bramble bush is symbol for Satan. Those who choose to be in Satan's shadow won't produce any righteous fruit.

6:45. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bring forth that which is good, and evil man out of the treasure of his heart bring forth that which is evil, for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

How do you know what person is like. If his or her heart and soul is evil, that's what they talk about. From gossip to false teachings. Unbelievers pretend to be Christian people, and subvert God's word. They have extensive knowledge of God's word. Some pastors are unbelievers. But righteous man will always tell you the truth.

Bad fruit comes from evil heart and good fruit from the righteous. We are to practice spiritual discernment. Peace.

The contrast might be seen between our old nature (selfishness) and the new nature God desires for us (walking by the Spirit in selflessness)

The old man

Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

The new man

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 11:12. But what I do, that I do, that I may cut off occasion from which desire occasion, that where in they glory, they may be found even as we.

So called false brethren who try to undermine body of Christ or try to antagonize . Unfortunately, some infiltrate churches and forums.

11:13. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

God doesn't send false apostles. They pretend to be Christian and claim holy Spirit is with them, but evil spirits. This group looks for opportunitys to try to subvert God's word or try to discredit members of body of Christ. There trying to disrupt God's word from making progress.

11:15. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness whose end shall be according to their works.

Wicked disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness. They use subversive tactics and manipulation. Satan doesn't want anyone to come to the light and achieve spiritual growth. They will target body of Christ.

There are some good shepherds, and unfortunately there are false brethren.

Ephesians 6:12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Satan is Prince of darkness and spiritually he controls the minds and actions of not only rulers, but evil spirits also. Battle is over God's word.

6:16. Above all taking the shield of faith, where by ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Shield of faith is important. Satan trys to penetrate the minds of those who have seal of God. The shield is our faith. Or certain knowledge that when Satan comes against us, we will automatically be given the moves we are to shield ourselves from him. Even body of Christ may have to expose wicked who disguised themselves as ministers of righteousness.

6:18. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching there unto with perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

Be led by the Spirit and not the flesh. Body of Christ is to look out for one another, and keep Christian people warm in the spirit. Body of Christ is in fierce spiritual battle against Satan and evil spirits. Use spiritual discernment to discern between good fruit and bad fruit.
